I bought this LX Torana hatchback when I was 16. It's been with me through everything.
Then in 2023, it was badly crashed. The car that started everything was suddenly in pieces.
I decided to rebuild it bigger, better, and with more purpose than ever before. That decision became the ReSSurXion.

Matt first registered the Torana in 2004 on his P-Plates with a 253 & M21, it was given a freshen up in 2008 and evolved into 'MRLXSS' with a 355 V8 being installed along with a few other upgrades along the way
A9-XHDT was my tribute to Brock’s iconic ’79 A9X, brought to life as a barn-find style build. It won Best Digital Wrap at MotorEx 2022 and turned heads at Summernats – everything I’d hoped for… until everything went sideways, literally, into a tree and down an embankment, leaving the car written off.
Dead? Not a chance – it was the opportunity to make it better. With the help of Dale Ward at Ward Paint and Fabrication, the Torana is being rebuilt into a modern Pro Touring build, combining The Render Garage design process with 3D scanning, custom parts and a true ‘Render to Reality’ approach. This time, the goal isn’t just to fix it – it’s to build something better than it’s ever been.
